Re: G6 Playoff
This is most likely going to come to fruition and it appears that there is nothing the G6 can do to derail this train. That being said I'd like to see that all Division 1 schools (G6 and P4) be allowed to play each other with no conditions. What I mean is let the P4 play the Sun Belt schools without...

Re: Charlotte Hornets fans
I cut English class 5 times in a row to watch the Cougars practice, then had to go beg Dr. Melton to let me catch up. It wasn’t easy. Thankful to Coach Larry Brown for letting us in to watch. I cut a few classes to watch them in BKG as well. I mean realistically: Daisy Eggers' English class or Coug...

Re: Executive Order for College Sports
While this government intrusion is admirable I think there should be more enforcement of academic rules: 1) every athlete has to complete a four-year degree and do it in 5 years maximum; 2) after that eligibility is exhausted

Re: Hubert Davis to NC State...
State hiring Davis as their MBB coach would be like App hiring Napier as our FB coach. Both have had success as HC’s, both would be intriguing hires…but it wouldn’t happen b/c the optics are bad and would anger a variety of donors. If we did, can we bring up Miracle On The Mountain on the daily.. a...

Re: Luke Combs
Luke can go put on baby blue for all I care now. He didn’t even graduate. That is the most assinine comment I've read in a long time. To ask anyone to put on uncheat colors is just nasty. Besides that I'd rather have a loyal popular fan who didn't graduate over a disloyal blue boot licking graduate...

Re: Sun Belt Tournament 2026
Maybe this question needs to have its own thread but I shudder to think what irrational comments would follow. I have to ask in all seriousness to the “fire the coach” crowd. How on earth do you expect any good coach at our level to maintain success? I keep reading that we need to find and spend mo...

Re: Sun Belt Tournament 2026
I believe Bobby Cremins to be our all time best. He inherited the worst program we had fielded in 75 years. Becam championship level in a short time. DK is second or third behind him. As to all of you suggesting more money, send it in. Or demand a shift in priorities away from football. Someone las...

Need clarification
To the admins: I'm curious as to why I'm blocked from seeing/commenting now on the "USA!" thread regarding the hockey team. Any answers?

Re: Can You Name This Former App State Quarterback?
I stand corrected. At least Working could identify talent. He just couldn't coach. True that. Case in point: 1) Blew a 14 point lead at WF and we lost 2) At WCU Alvin Parker had 180+ yards and they couldn't stop him. Late in the game it was fourth and 1 from their 2 yard line. He called the TE drag...

Russia was banned after their invasion of Ukraine. I thought about this a few times during the last two weeks. You just know there's some poor Russians cleaning their rifles in the Ukrainian wilderness complaining like, "We are SO much better than these guys! We should be there!" Maybe they need to...

Robert Duvall This one hits hard. Yep, this is a hard knock! Two of the greatest lines in movie history: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning” Apocalypse Now. And “ I call that bold talk by a one eyed fat man.” True grit. Second Hand Lions “I'm Hub McCann. I've fought in two World Wars and co...

I enjoyed many a cold pitcher there on the weekends. I also ended up challenging my guardian angel's skills while driving back to campus especially on the snowy nights when the road was white. RIP Antlers

RIP Coach Joe Eller. I found out last Wednesday (Jan. 7) that Coach Joe Eller of Gastonia passed away about 6 months ago. I met him at the golf course where I was working 3 years ago. I got to talk with him a few times. I found out that he was an alum and former football player under coach E. C. Dug...

Former football player passing
I found out today that Coach Joe Eller of Gastonia passed away about 6 months ago. I met him at the golf course where I was working 3 years ago and found out that he was an alum and former football player under coach E. C. Duggins. He was one of the renown “Duggins’ Boys.” He was a real treat to tal...
