Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I definitely don't think we should give up on HS recruiting, but I do think the best path forward for the portal is to look for experienced / proved players from FCS and D2. They will be more ready to contribute and more affordable. I don't know where the proper balance should be but I hope we find ...

Re: Spring game April 18th
Serious question...why would we need 34 scholarships to play baseball. It is not like it is very physical. I would think 20 would be plenty. If we habe that many injuries just move on to next year. We split scholarships currently in order to field a full roster (34). So, who do you think winds up w...

Re: Spring game April 18th
Baseball doesn’t matter it seems. Definitely an afterthought. As most are to football. I want Kermit to win. But, if he doesn’t, our next coach should demand more money and publicity. Sooner or later, our athletics department should realize that baseball has the best odds to make postseason runs an...

Re: Portal time 25-26
What is the likelihood that some of the portal guys wind up withdrawing and remaining at App? Excluding those who were asked to leave, would the others be welcome back? Anybody have a feel for this angle? Back in the day, most programs cut off a player for announcing his was leaving, but in today's ...

Re: Portal time 25-26
I think the emphasis on P4 transfers is easy to understand but misguided. The coaches have been looking for the home run but we don't have a line-up that is getting on base. We've had a few good ones, but I absolutely think that FCS is where we should focus on building Guys with starting experience ...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Regarding Wilson, I think he played pretty well considering the situation. He had a depleted team around him. He provided a huge spark in the running game that neither AJ nor JJ added. His passing game had flashes but obviously turnovers (bad decisions / execution) were an issue. That's not hard to ...

Re: Portal time 25-26
OK, I get the knee jerk reaction to Kirby Smart and that's fine, but listen to the video again. He isn't telling these young men not to look to the portal. His comment is about all the social media announcements. They announce they're going to the portal. They announce they're staying. His comment i...

Re: Portal time 25-26
Hey, you guys are free to hate Kirby, but there's nothing about Georgia's program that isn't true of every other elite P4. Regarding the "tampering" comment, I'd be interested what that is based on. Georgia relies less on transfers than any other team in the playoffs by a LONG shot. If App were to l...

Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
If a team is really that good, they should be able to win their conference. That is the only way to make it fair and guarantee the best teams are in the playoffs. Anything less is just a beauty contest. You will never have the very best teams in the playoffs until you do, because some conferences a...

Dig your heels in, practice and get better with your brothers. NFL doesn’t give those 2nd chances for borderline guys. Hopefully our guys got better in Decembe...

Re: G6 playoff gaining momentum
I feel like a separate playoff is still premature but I realize it is ultimately almost inevitable and always has been. Even before we moved up, the discussion was about an eventual split between the P5/G5 and part of the rationale for moving up was to avoid being stacked down even further in obscur...

Re: Who is the "last great App State player"?
T Heni would be on my list. Ended career with App State record for career catches (242) while ranking No. 2 in career receiving yards (3,124) and No. 4 in career receiving TDs (23) He is definitely up there, but remember he did have an extra year. The dude was a starter for 5 years, I would hope he...

Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
I personally don't care if ND ever plays in another post season game. I don't think it's the death sentence that some on here do. The issues impacting the Bowl System have been building for years. I do think the number of Bowls will decrease but I don't think it dies out completely. Over the next 10...

Re: Could ACC be snubbed and SBC get in CFP?
They should be mad that Alabama got in...not Miami. Alabama had three losses. By the way...i agree with the CFP......i thought they nailed the selections. Alabama's third loss is to a top 5 team in an extra game that Miami didn't have to play. I can't stand Bama, but they had multiple wins over ran...

Re: ACC
The AAC is running on fumes and past reputation. The Belt is down this year, but won't stay down. The AAC will get raided for talent this off season just like the SBC did last year and the Belt will cycle to the top....with the new PAC 12 (or whatever they ultimately call themselves) as the biggest ...
