Re: G6 Playoff
I kind of compare my view of App football in the same way as Panthers football. My expectations for both are to win the NC and the Super Bowl. My realistic view is that either final game is generally unlikely. If that doesn’t happen I want both/either team to make a playoff. If that doesn’t occur t...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Tradition is made by the fans. Culture is made by all involved. Those two aren't mutually exclusive to the players and coaches. If they were, then all those pro teams would have nothing. If we want tradition, then make it ourselves as fans, stop waiting on ADs to tell you what tradition is. If you ...

Re: Executive Order for College Sports
At least someone is attempting use common sense. Imagine someone told you if you wanted to switch jobs you would have to sit out a year first. Imagine a group of people who are about free market pushing a law that limits the abilities of the labor to earn more money. Imagine a group of people who b...

Re: 4 year schools compared in new analysis
My daughter just got a full ride to UNC.....She for a long time planned to attend App. One day she looked at me and said "Everyone gets in App...they have a 90% acceptance rate" I didn't believe her. I looked it up. She was right. The UNC system has pushed us back down by making us take so many stu...

Re: 4 year schools compared in new analysis
When did our selectivity decrease so much much? 85% or so applicants are admitted? Maybe that reflects lots of applicants who can get accepted to other schools and never attend App if they get into other first choice schools. Or has an increased enrollment push decreased our selectivity? I think th...

I find it odd that I don't care if it happens, but 5-6 years ago I would have felt much differently.

Re: MBB vs Eastern Michigan 2/7 1pm est
That would mean the Athletic Department would actually have to spend minimal dollars on the fan experience at the games. It would also involve some marketing, which for basketball is pretty much nonexistent. They did just give 500 jersey away. I thought it was 200 jerseys but might have been 500. I...

Re: New East Tower renderings
It’s the plan, but I don't have faith in Gillin to execute said plan. He couldn’t get us into the AAC when the opportunity came up. Staying in the Sun belt long term is a financially terrible decision. As far as this expansion, it’s a strong no for me as well. Gillin proves time and time again that...

Re: Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Award
I imagine one has to be a member as well. SP is based in Boone, but they also have operations in Wilkes County it seems and their airplanes are based at PTI. They may not want to join any of them to save on money in joining for not much benefit or they do not want to join one and ignore the other t...

Re: They did not include number 16...
Not a single G5 program listed and they specifically use the term FBS. Not FCS wins. Also, we are 46th in the second link you posted. I see that now. I was thinking that 16th in all time winning percentage was the same in all time wins. However, had we started playing when those teams listed starte...

Re: Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Award
Forgive my ignorance, I haven't lived in Boone for over 20 years, and while I make it to town as often as I can, I don't know Boone today like a local would. My question is this: are there enough "large businesses" in Boone to make this an actual award? I assume the way the press release is written...

Re: MBB @ Troy 4:30 pm 1/31
Football facilities probably shouldn’t see another dime until Basketball and baseball get renovations and softball/track are 100% completed. The Holmes Center should be the next major project. The biggest upgrades in 25 years were a center-hanging scoreboard and separate offices for MBB and WBB, wh...

Re: Bistro Roca on fire
Agreed, some place locations just cannot make it. Another one that perplexes me in that a restaurant cannot consistently make it there.. the old Hardee's by the Holmes Center... Great location next to campus. The Hardee’s near Holmes is actually being redeveloped. True, but that's kind of the point...
