Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
When you finish the regular season playing poorly you are not going to survive the post season. It’s an almost guarantee. App and CCU both had same results. Need to figure out why and solve that problem next year.

Re: 2026 Team Previews
In regards to paying players, salary caps and league wide budgets vs pros, here is my opinion, for what its worth. In most major league sports, NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA, (for the most part) the individual teams/owners view their success, in part, to the overall success of the league. They recognize tha...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
In baseball, I am not expecting sweeps against top competition but you MUST be able to win the series, 2-1. I have followed the Braves forever and that is how the best teams perform. You can't pad your stats only against weak teams only while losing most series against better/middling teams and then...

Our man Luke could fill it up again. I'd like to see Whiskey Meyers or Treaty Oak come up. IDK if they'd fill it up though. Saw Whiskey last month on Luke’s tour. He was good. Luke is packing them in for his latest 2026 stadium tour. Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas - 70,921 venue record, Nevada's larg...

Re: 2026 Team Previews
Who on this board would be satisfied if App averages 7-5 over the next 10 yrs and never exceeds 10 wins in any one year? Would you still give what you give now or would the lack of enthusiasm overcome you and stop contributing? I like App and want to help them but at some point I can't justify it an...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
I am glad we finished 3rd in SBC.
But you want to compare yourself to winners. In last 10 games,
USM - 9-1
CCU - 4-6
App - 4-6
We have to figure out to finish the season if we want to be relevant in the playoffs.

Re: Luke Combs
More teams in, more people having a good time. The argument that it is too hard on athletes to play that many games is invalid. If they really cared, they would cut the number of games played in the regular season. The playoffs only affect those teams that run far into the playoffs. I just do not u...

Re: Luke Combs
Lazy, obtuse, fair weather because you don't want to pay players more than we have been paying them for decades? I guess after 35 years I just became fair weather, lazy and obtuse. I am now feeling even better about the donation I made this year to a DIV III program. Yes, but Division III sends 40 ...

Re: 2026 Team Previews
IMO, we don't have a clue what we are going to get. DLo and his staff have to prove he can pull it all together. The players have to step up and gel. We could go either way. In this environment and especially at our level (G6) the days of building a team of players over several years and maturing th...

Re: G6 Playoff
GP playoff and bowls outside of CFP are just for partying. A lot of players are opting out of bowls and some even CFP games because they view it in their own personal interest. That make bowls merely a pride thing and an opportunity to go party. Let's just call them what they are. There is nothing ...

Re: 3 year bachelor's degree, growing trend
I have always felt that a large part of college is the personal growth during the 4-5 years (or more if you're lucky) of attendance. Sure, many classes have zero to do with career paths, but there is a lot to be said about exposing oneself to ideas outside their area of interest. I firmly believe t...

Re: Hubert Davis to NC State...
Why would NC State take UNC’s rejects?
However, while Davis kept the program competitive, North Carolina endured back-to-back first-round exits in the NCAA Tournament both this year and last season, and missed the tournament entirely in 2022. Ultimately, the program decided it was time for a change.

I see I made the correct decision to quit reading this thread a couple of days ago. Should've stayed away, and I will now. But you knew the thread would eventually go off the rails. Re: Luke Combs
On the contractual idea, I am with Luke 100%. Not sure how contractually it would work, my comment on a thread on YC a long time ago was related to multi year contracts. If I had enough funds to fund several players for nil, I would want a contract that would be multi-year. Player does not get all ...

Re: Luke Combs
Haven’t read all of this and that G5 playoff debate is brutal but I throw this out. How about the 4 highest rated G5’s who don’t get the playoff spot play for a mini championship? Play the “semifinal games” at the home of the higher ranked schools then the two winners square off in a nice bowl game...

Re: Luke Combs
I like Luke and understand his feeling BUT even if you move back to FCS you will still be poached if you get any quality players. That is not an insulation from the catastrophe of college football today. The system is broken and as long as you are fielding teams in college you will be subjected to t...

Re: #4 seed in Pensacola
Consistently our opponents are playing 8-9 players 10+ minutes each game where we play 6-7 players 10+ minutes a game. That matters in February. Agree with your point but my point is it is Kerns responsibility to solve and he can't say his peers aren't solving the problem. This is not a new problem...

Re: #4 seed in Pensacola
Kerns has done a phenomenal job putting together teams that win, in spite of the how the odds have been stacked against him. Watching the late season fades over the past few years causes me to wonder...why? This year’s squad has been blessed to be relatively healthy, but they’ve struggled to finish...

Re: 2026
Forrest said, Every year is like a box of chocolates, you will never know what you will get when you bite into it in the fall. And, I am serious. Goes for the entire SBC and G5 for the most part. Continuity is gone. You hope you have a good coaching staff that can make the most of what they can cobb...
