Re: 2026 Team Previews
I’ve been one to ask if there is any academic criteria any longer for “college athletes” primarily at major universities for (mainly football and basketball). With all of the seemingly annual transfers it seems almost impossible to maintain the required academic qualifications at any reputable unive...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Best season in ten years in the Sunbelt. Had more guys than ever recognized for accolades in the regular season. SunBelt Conference is fifth best conference out of 30 in the country. Pretty damn good season! Pretty hard to recruit baseball players to come play baseball in cold weather. Be thankful ...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
One of the announcers yesterday pointed out that Texas St was moving to a new conference and said that maybe we play them again some time. I know he was just talking but zero chance we spend the money traveling there for even a weekend series. This talk of scheduling is interesting. I can’t imagine ...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
They just said Smith is expected to play later in the tournament. I’m no doctor but I’m curious what will change in a few days with stitches in the mouth area. Can’t imagine a great deal of healing beyond where he’s at today.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
For years a few people have popped up on threads for our 3 major sports saying that other schools are afraid to schedule us- mostly in football. While that has always sounded cool what real empirical evidence exists that really supports that? Is there real documentation from AD’s at larger schools a...

Re: 2026 Team Previews
Does any sort of NCAA athletic/academic enforcement even exist anymore? I can’t really recall the last time I read about anything the NCAA did to a school, coach, player or program that really meant anything. I always wondered what “vacating wins” really meant. Schools sometimes lost some recruiting...

Re: 2026 Team Previews
How much salary does App State football actually pay out? Is this public information and if not, why isn’t it? When I read that guys come here to “collect a paycheck” I wonder what that even entails.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Looks like a win today locks us at 3rd. Probably no reason to burn any pitching tomorrow under that scenario

Re: 2026 Team Previews
I think the norm particularly in the G5 level will be a whole bunch of teams going 7-5, 6-6 and 5-7. Basically all about the same

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Make their case for what? To keep their jobs with a 4th place team in a really good baseball conference and with a team approaching 30 wins? That case?

Would have been something if Luke did what the guy did at NCSU graduation the other day- paid off everyone’s senior debt in that school of textiles . Wow

Re: G6 Playoff
I kind of compare my view of App football in the same way as Panthers football. My expectations for both are to win the NC and the Super Bowl. My realistic view is that either final game is generally unlikely. If that doesn’t happen I want both/either team to make a playoff. If that doesn’t occur th...

Re: Apps In The Pros Mega Thread
We used to be able to look at the depth chart and know pretty much what the roster would look like the following year. I can’t recall when it was exactly but not that long ago we had a solid offensive line that had starters who were sophomores. I think we had maybe a 3 year run with the same guys. W...

Re: Apps In The Pros Mega Thread
Wow it’s great to see the names of the current players who played for us and the ones listed above were (I believe) recruited and stayed at least 4 years. Kind of sad to think back to the number of FCS era guys who made it and how much pride we had when their names got chosen. Unless something dras...
