Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Anyone know where our returning players are playing this summer? I saw that a few were in Boone with the Bigfoots. Also have we been hit by the portal yet?

Why no TV of the Wake game in Shelby? They televise the Legion World Series on ESPN so why not this game?

What is the deal with GW's camera placement on the game tonight? I get a better view of my grandson's U10 team on Game Changer!

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Good start to the weekend for Baseball, Softball and Tennis! A shout out to Coach Smith. Noticed that he was wearing #61 on his jersey. I am thinking that is in honor of Shawn Clark. Nicely done.

It is my firm belief that this App State team is the best in the SBC---- at making a double digit lead vanish in thin air!

Maybe it's just me but did anyone else wonder why DLo was wearing a sweatshirt with ODU colors?

We will have at least one Mountaineer in a regional. Hayden Cross will be back in NC with Murray State.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

On the injury situation. Anyone know how Steensma is doing? Also will Kramer and Marks have another year and are they getting healthy? I remember hearing that the Freshman catcher Weinstein had a very good Fall but do not recall him getting any time on the field. Injury, red-shirt or just not as goo...

Re: VB Coach Noble goes to South Carolina

Any word on players or assistants following Sarah to SC? From what I was told a year ago the girls loved playing for her and loved her as a coach and role model. Big loss in my opinion. Hope we can find an up and coming young coach to fill her shoes.

See that softball has not been televised this weekend. Is the new playing field not fully equipped for TV at this time?
It was on the ESPN+ schedule.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

I have a small bone to pick and it may tie in to not being coached at the youth level about situational plays on defense. I was taught that if you had a runner in a run down you always ran him back to the base he came from with minimal throws made. We did part of that last night but made an un-neces...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Pants looked ok once the sun went down. In the sunlight they appeared to be a bronze color, at least that's what it looked like on my TV. Think a gold stripe on the leg may have helped. We won big wearing them so keep them in the rotation!!

Red Bridges BBQ

As hotly contested as the mention of BBQ becomes on this board, I can't believe no one posted about the kitchen fire at Red Bridges in Shelby. Happened a week or so ago and initial statement said the fire was contained in the smoking (of the meat) area and there was limited damage to the main restau...

Re: 2024 Volleyball Megathread

Just got home from the VB match with WFU. Ladies looked better that last weekend. Passing and back line defense was much improved. Wake won 3-1 but the 3rd set was 25-23 and the 4th set was 27-25. We got behind by large amounts in both sets and battled back to take late set leads with multiple chanc...

App national exposure

I caught part of the Laura Ingram show one night this week. She had App grad and backup QB Chris Swecker now retired from an Assistant Directors position with the FBI on talking about recent events. He was interviewed from his office and there was a black App State helmet with the white block A on a...
