I was firmly against this until NIL and the portal came into existence. Completely changed my mind.

Give me the G6 playoff yesterday.

How many players will enter the portal and opt out of the playoffs?

Re: 2026 Team Previews

If we go 5-7 again the HC and AD have to go imo. The AD has done so much good work in his time here. But if you get two football hires wrong I just think it’s far too risky to give a third. Finding and hiring a coach who can succeed at the G5 level in this environment is going to be a pretty tough ...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

The dismissing of our traditions is something a few influential people are trying to correct. BTW , something very cool and perhaps overdue , my opinion, coming soon. I hope that means getting rid of the Alabama intro  I actually think Mountain Music with a couple of tweaks could be great. Peo...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

Tradition is made by the fans. Culture is made by all involved. Those two aren't mutually exclusive to the players and coaches. If they were, then all those pro teams would have nothing. If we want tradition, then make it ourselves as fans, stop waiting on ADs to tell you what tradition is. If you ...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

I think the question is, head coach in waiting or just a brief stop until something else comes along. Given he isn't in a specific football role he may not be looking at going for football coaching position currently. I was thinking of a role in line with developing a more cohesive football alumni ...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

Mjohn, it all is out of whack, whether market driven or not. Your daughter is underpaid in comparison to those in the athletic world, or music world and other worlds, or they are way overpaid. If your daughter makes a mistake, someone dies or is debilitated or continues to suffer from their conditi...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates

If this whole thing is a real business as many say, why does it need donations? I for one am getting sick of hearing we don’t have enough money to succeed. My daughter has gone through 7 years of college and is going to be just below an MD and won’t make as much money as we say an assistant football...

Re: Montana's Hauck Retires

I don't understand the pushback. He stated he enjoyed coaching and he has now shed what he said was his problem. He said he no longer enjoyed being a "head coach". What is wrong with what he did? Some don’t think a guy who has done so well should complain about the system. Others think he’s in a gr...

Re: Montana's Hauck Retires

And now I read that Hauck has just become the defensive coordinator at illinois…the ink hadn’t even dried on his retirement letter. Everyone has a right to speak their mind on this, and I know a coach at Montana is not making SEC coaching money. Likely not making top G5 money, but he likely has a v...

Re: Portal time 25-26

Reality and desperation are setting in for some of these guys. Out of our 41 outgoing transfers, 8 moved up (if you count Rutgers as moving up). Definitely not. ..and. it is in New Jersey 😂 Timely message in my social media feed.. wow Rutgers athletics deficit hit record $78 million in 2024-25. New...

Re: Portal time 25-26

Feel like we really needs some DL guys still. A whole lot entered the portal and it doesn't seem like we have come close to replacing the numbers. I don't care how great our new LBs and DBs are, without any DL pressure they will get picked apart and look sub par. We need some DL help in a big way. ...

Unless we’re playing 7 on 7 now, we seem to be short linemen, particularly on the defensive side.
We're going with a 2-3-6 formation.
The 2-3-6 formation requires you to have a really competent long snapper.
What?
