Shifting only a million to bball does not get us any further than we potentially could have gotten this year. We had opportunity to win the regular season with one or two weeks to go We win conference tournament we are in...with only $1 million, we are still probably losing in the first round. For me, we just needed one more good SBC level player to get to NCAA this year. Did not need $1 million for that in addition to what we already give. Would I like to see $1 to $2 million funded for bball, yes...but not at expense of football. Why take away money from your only revenue generating sport. That would be insane. If we were really good in bball for a period of time, however, we still just have SBC schools and Carolina College coming to Boone, the attendance meter is not going to move that much for weekday games. May see some increase for weekend games. As a result, doesn't make common sense to move funds from football.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:32 amHigh Point has NIL over $4m. Robbing Peter to pay Paul but still be “broke” by NIL standards would be a bad decision.

Re: March Madness discussion
My idea would be to just give less for football pay to play and invest in basketball where we are winning if we lose. Just saying that I would rather put money into basketball if football does not improve. I am not predicting that and I don't want it to happen but saying instead of firing the coaches I would retain them to not pay a buyout and invest where we win.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:32 amHigh Point has NIL over $4m. Re: March Madness discussion
Abson didn't make a huge splash, but he was FAR more efficient in his few minutes than the guys who got to play a lot longer.
I've been following UGA since I'm in grad school there. IMO Abson was criminally underused while Blue Cain got 30 minutes of cardio every night. Lotta dawg fans not happy with Mike White considering the NIL $ that's been thrown at a very talented team that has under performed.
