Marsha- USM - Memphis.. man gets around

3 schools in 11 months.

Memphis could have done better.

Jerry Mack would've been better for them.

Maybe I’m wrong or in the minority, but this guy does not impress me at all. I don’t think he’s nearly as good as some folks, including himself think he is.

I'm with you on this. I was SHOCKED Memphis went with him. They must have been desperate for a coach. Memphis is one of the better jobs and should have had some good interest. The other thing with this is ..... Coaches moving schools like this just makes it harder to tell players they need to stay at one school.

I've always said there are three entities that get worked up/excited to play App: 1)Georgia Southern, 2) Coastal and randomly 3) Charles Huff Jr.

Huff had a good season at Marshall, followed by an OK season in Hattiesburg with a lot of the same kids.
Huff's resume is OK, but not great. I'm not sure what to think of the hire.

The wife not like Hattiesburg either?

Maybe, I've been to Hattiesburg. Only seen part of it but the locals were very nice and had three younger relatives go to school there. They all liked it. I'm sure it's like a typical mid sized southern town, nice folks but a closed off society. Places like that you have to go 3-4 generations deep to be an "insider".

News reports are saying his salary is comparable to what he made at USM but nothing verified. USM also had decent announced attendance (25kish) but the stadium was always half empty when they played. It's also pretty old. A lot of people are blaming the AD and administration for not focusing or investing in football.
Never been to Memphis, a lot of history but not a very good reputation.

And - Huff will be at his third school in 3 years, USM will be hiring a new coach for the 3rd time in 3 years.Would suggest something missing in both......

I’ve spent plenty of time in Memphis, much of it on business. Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up living in Germantown, which is a cool nearby suburb.
