High School Physics Equipment Donation Question

To the relief of all of my students, and especially future students, I retired last fall. As some of the long time lurkers going back to the Delphi board may remember the App State science departments gave me a van load of equipment after the fire at Eastern Guilford High in 2006.

That equipment moved with me and found its way to a storage unit after I retired, which I am now cleaning out. I know of a local App State alumna that is getting some of the equipment. And that is good for me knowing the equipment will stay "in the Mountaineer family."

For those in the mountain areas that were impacted by H. Helene were there any schools that lost science equipment? I know the North Carolina Physics Teachers association looked into this some and never found anything but I am not sure how hard the looking was done.

It seems most of the destruction was individual homes and not as much schools and public buildings. But I though it worth the time to make a quick post before everything I have to give away is gone.

It looks like 409 folks looked at this thread and no one posted a school I should reach out to. That is a good thing. As I mentioned, other groups looked into this and I contacted App State Physics and Astronomy Department as well. So with all of that maybe no public schools were damaged by H. Helene.

I kept some of my equipment, some went back to the last school where I taught, and most was handed over to an alumna that is a public school physics and astronomy teacher near me.
