Being replaced by Lil Rudy’s, a chain college bar. Think there are 3 others. Miss Klondike

Really wish baseball was still there (but understand the flooding). D1 SBC baseball at the entry of campus would be wild.
I wish it was still there also, it was a great location even if it did flood occasionally. Talk about being convenient to campus and easy to just stop by and watch a game, it was the best and so glad I got to enjoy it during my time there.
I played on that field, it was great with people at Klondike and around the outfield. But there was a sewer grate in the OF, and objectively the current setup for that area is better. Rivers street was moved for construction of HCC and that intersection is basically left field. Hardin St. was 2 lanes at the time. No way it could still be 2 lanes. Was a huge mess as all of that was being reconfigured, but it turned out well. The field after that one was a huge mistake.
Daylighting that creek is much better for the water quality. I am looking forward to the stream being day lighted farther upstream as well. I think it looks great.Mountain Man wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:15 amI played on that field, it was great with people at Klondike and around the outfield. A few years ago, we went to Tapp Room before going to a baseball game. We walked to behind the football stadium from there and found out it had moved to Broyhill. We walked the rest of the way, but one guy was out a shape and called an Uber at the top of the stairs. It was a pretty awful walk, but the new stadium is beautiful.Mountain Man wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:15 amI played on that field, it was great with people at Klondike and around the outfield. Put me on the 5/5 list on that one! Miss those daysSaint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 11:44 amKlondike checklist:
- Ate the buffalo chicken wrap at the outside bar on a summer afternoon
- Played foosball/golden tee
- Danced on the fireplace
- Hung out in the parking lot on a Thursday because it was too hot inside
- Used the outdoor facilities
Scored 3 or higher we can hang out, all 5 I hope you married well and she's been a good influence.
One of my favorite memories was watching this little guy start trouble with a group of football players. It got pretty heated until one of the guys, former O-lineman picked this little guy up by the waist of his jeans and tossed him into the parking lot. I swear he threw him 20 feetSaint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 11:44 amKlondike checklist:

Not only did I score 5/5 on your list, but I met my now wife at Klondike. We joke we’re the only relationship to begin there that lasted for more than 24 hoursSaint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 11:44 amKlondike checklist:

LOL, I met my wife there when we were in college, but didn't start dating until 3 years later. I'm pretty sure you introduced me to your wife there.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:30 pmNot only did I score 5/5 on your list, but I met my now wife at Klondike. Let's just say it's a good place to stress test a relationship on multiple fronts.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 12:30 pmNot only did I score 5/5 on your list, but I met my now wife at Klondike.
