Less than stellar predictions for the boys. I know it's just a crappy, superficial look, but it still hurts to see.

I used to really look forward to preseason predictions, back when we were good and knew what we had. Now, it is a total crap shoot.

App was 4-2 when running more than 35 times, and 1-7 when it didn’t.

Biggest Concern - The run defense.

5-7 prediction.

Going to the bar if you need me.

Let’s be honest with ourselves: is this take closer to the truth than many of us want to admit?

Had App returned a reasonable core of players this year, maybe confidence would be higher. But can anyone look at what Loggains has built in the offseason and confidently say, “App will be significantly better in 2026”? We just don’t know yet.

[note: I don’t say this to be negative or dog the team/staff. I truly hope App uses this as grist and runs the table this season!]

Unfortunately, I didn't expect better than that, but I was hoping they might know more than I do and have more confidence in us than I do.

I think the norm particularly in the G5 level will be a whole bunch of teams going 7-5, 6-6 and 5-7. Basically all about the same

A casual observer could point to a complete lack of effective coaching and or lack of talent. The reality combines the two. A brand new roster with the same unproven coaching staff and this is where we are. It’s disheartening because we are going to need this staff to “get it” or we will need massive talent upgrades up and down the roster to overcome the coaching deficiencies. Ugh.

We need to go through September 2-2 or better . If not it could get ugly.

It's impossible to know how the season will play out, especially with all the new players. I had high hopes last year only to seem them dashed. Aside from the biggest difference between this and last year, the roster, the next biggest is the number of new coaches we have including an Offensive Coordinator. I don't think we've ever had so many coaches here before. Maybe that makes sense because of all the new players and young players needing to step up quickly, more coaches should mean more intensive one-on-one coaching or at lease smaller groups to coach. I don't know what the answer is but I know if you start out with the premise, we can only be mediocre from here on, we've already lost. I hope the coaching staff has a better, can do attitude than we have on this board or we really are sunk.

IMO, we don't have a clue what we are going to get. DLo and his staff have to prove he can pull it all together. The players have to step up and gel. We could go either way. In this environment and especially at our level (G6) the days of building a team of players over several years and maturing them is no longer the viable model, although some of that still has to exist. A good coach mixes and matches, and figures the way to success. Until DLo shows his approach works, nobody's forecast/predictions are worth a dime. I thought we were on the way out of the gate last year and things just didn't progress.

There's less than 10 Clark players left, and half of them are walkons who never play.

NIL funding is up multiple times over. Season tickets still sold out.

No excuses for Dowell. I know it's Year Two, but there's too much at stake.

In CFB, you either win or make people feel good about their team to keep your job. Dowell doesn't make me feel good about his team, so he needs to win.

Yeah you wanted to root for Clark because he seemed like a down to earth dude that loved Boone and App which I identify with.

Loggains is just a hired mercenary nothing more or less. Which is fine, it worked out with drink but you got to win

Can't fall in love with a salesman during an interview. Gotta focus on results.

i'm just hoping for a winning record...2 straight losing seasons has been tough to swallow...i feel like its such a crap shoot each year with roster turnover....just sickening how nil, and transfer portal has obliterated g5 teams like us

That tells me more about the people who hired him than the person hired.

Wink wink. We both know of a few people who have paid to have their influence.

Of course. However I’m unaware of anyone trying to influence her outside of the feedback of those that interviewed him . There was another candidate who had some connections to longtime donors and played that hand. Obviously to no avail.
