If we have locked up 3rd, I am not throwing a pitcher for more than 80 pitches today unless he is perfect or a no hitter.
You can have a desire to win and utilize a few pitchers. Only way we get in a regional is winning the tournament. Seen too many tournaments where one team is trotting out a freshman or some other pitcher, that has only a few innings, and asking them to win a conference championship game.

I do believe today should be a trial run for the 3rd starter though.

We don’t have many options- but I do not think it’s Barrazino.

Wilson has already thrown.
The lefties don’t go longer than 3-5 outs.
Harris is a 1-2 inning guy.
Max is our setup man.
Fisher closer.

Really would like to see Tibbett get some absolute run today with Barrazino and hope 1 of the 2 do well.

Barrazino betrayed Don Corleone.

Good grief.. britt being negligent again at 3rd.. routine ball to third, no outs. You send the runner... Unreal . Unless Evans did that on his own

Aggressive and reckless are two totally different things. If the 3rd base coach called that it is reckless

If Evans is waiting for Britt to tell him to go or stay then it's already too late. The decision to go or stay on that is decided immediately when he gets to 3rd base based on the scenario the staff decides. Different teams call it different things (aggressive, passive, green, yellow, etc.) but it's basically "go on anything on the ground" or "don't go on a ground ball to either of the corners" - unsure if that's just on Britt or if he and Kermit communicate on it when the runner gets to 3rd, but it's 100% not a 3rd base coach seeing the ball hit, making the decision, and telling him to go type thing. Didn't work out this time.

Agree with everything you say, Slappy. The situation did not dictate aggressiveness. Britt 100 percent should have told Evans as soon as he got to third to freeze at third unless it’s a base hit. Otherwise, Evans’ first step should have been back to third. We’ll probably never know whose fault it was but it was definitely a bonehead play.

I realize that the coach decision is not made at time of bat on ball. The communication is when Evans arrives at 3rd. If third base did not give tEvans the reality of the situation that no outs, do not leave for home until ball leaves infield on 3rd base side... If that did not happen, 100% on Britt. I have never been on 3rd base where the 3rd base coach did not give me what the plan or situation is. If he told Evans and he ran anyway, 100% on Evans.

Barrozino bright spot, good for him. Gives us another option next week.

Rest of the team feels okay with 3rd and prepping for next week. Lack of excitement and pep.

Pitchers are athletes!

Look at Harris getting over and covering 1st for a double play.

Bats need to work counts.

Smith’s absence is a big part of it. Could really use another smart righthanded bat against their lefty.

Heard he had a tryout this offseason already in the works…but not for baseball.
Stay tuned.

We see why X and Z were benched.
Lazy. Cannot boot easy grounders like that due to laziness.

Errors cost us a lead again.

We don’t want to be in Atlanta.
