If we just had one guy that can consistently knock down 3's and FT. Instead we have a bunch of guys that are streaky shooters. The fouls on Marcus and Wilson midway through the first changed the game. Both had to be careful not to pickup a third and Texas State went on a run by attacking the lane. Credit them for recognizing it and making the shots.
Tot can hit the 3.
Vasser is 90% from the stripe.
But outside of that, it gets dicey.

Tot can make the 3. However, he takes too many bad ones in my opinion. In some respects, it seems he thinks the ball is a hot potato and he has to get rid of it. I get that some of his 3s relate to shot clock running down due to our offense . However, he had at least two 3s that were not good decisions. One was in first half with more than 10 seconds on shot clock..he shoots with bigger guy in his face. The other was in 2nd half. We are up 4 with 3 or so minutes left. Jennings cranks a 3 with almost 20 seconds left on shot clock (did not like that decision either). We get long rebound, tot throws it up 3 feet behind 3 point line. There was a third one in late first half that was also questionable.
I actually think he is a decent 3 point shooter..just questionable on when to shoot and not (wait for better look).
At the end of the day, my personal opinion is that the game was lost due to the fact that we did not get intentional about going inside to Luke. He owned those guys when he got the ball. Part of that is he making himself more available.

We still had a chance to win. Down one. Do we take it inside? No we jack a 3. 5-29
I mean it was a great look
It actually was a good look. Except everyone has been ice cold.
I thought it was a good look as well but he did not need to do it. We were down 1 so we just needed to drive. I rather go in for a contested shot with a chance at free throws. Hit the shot or free throws and you win.
I’m sure part of Texas State’s calculus was knowing we couldn’t make anything. Refs notoriously swallow their whistles in that spot. As bad as we had shot, a catch and shoot three for your best player at that isn’t a bad possession. Just so so frustrating how we gave away both this game and the Marshall game considering the circumstances
Absolutely. I said the same thing about the shot. He should have faked the shot and drove to drain more time and take a higher percentage shot with a chance to get fouled. Like you said, if fouled all he has to do is hit free throws.

I don't expect to win the tournament but we have a decent chance. We have to hit free throws and get some good production from our bench though.
