Belmont lost by 30 to a 14-19 team. They had no business losing like that to that team. The conference should not protect teams who are going to get crushed by a team they arent supposed to. No one has such a ridiculous bracket like the sun belt. We can agree to disagree on that. But to suggest conferences shouldn’t have their good teams participate in said conference tourney because they may lose is so weakdiehardapp18 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 4:41 pmBelmont, after going like 25-4, loses their first tournament game in the OVC. This is why our bracket is the way it is.

9 times out of 10, time off hurts. Biggest example being the 2023-24 season. This year, we needed all the rest we could get. Hopefully, the rest pays off.

Weeks with 32 points, dude is a player. We contained him last time, hopefully we can duplicate that.

Southern Miss wins again! Like this matchup a lot more than Texas State.
However, Tylik Weeks is a matchup nightmare. 6'7 225 point forward who is playing much more confidently than when we played them in January.
In his last 7 games, he is averaging 26.7 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.7 APG. Southern Miss is undefeated in games when he scores 26+ points. I’d expect it’ll be defending by committee tomorrow night.

Kerns needs to come op with a plan to shut him down as much as possible.

USM has built some good momentum, I hope they don’t catch our kids flat footed tomorrow.

Re: Sun Belt Tournament 2026
We match up well against S Miss and they’ve already played two games. We do well with teams with one main scorer. Play good defense and shoot average or better, we should win. Weeks got 21 against us last time, hold him to that again or less, we likely win

Run this team in the first half and beat their tired legs in the second.

Re: Sun Belt Tournament 2026
Boom GASO wins and S Miss. I do think we match up well with S Miss…. we’ll have to shoot and rebound. I’d say that if we shoot in the 40%’s we’ll be fine. It our time now. Let’s GO!!

All four underdogs won today in Pensacola, MBB and WBB.
The 3 of the 6 teams involved in that second-place tie who have played so far have all lost.

Apparently the Sun Belt's not alone. Several other conferences are using a similar format.
The team's that have played v. rested teams are 4-2. Let's hope that trend ends tonight.
