Our track record with recruiting high school guards has been poor lately. It is nice to see a concerted effort to improve free throw shooting.

Just to put a bow on this commit.....

Just FYI: I'm still waiting for 247 to add the schools for the last two guys we committed/signed. I'll add them to our 26' Commit listings as soon as they do.

From the Doritos and couch potato scouting department, my guess is his size in relation to how he plays the game. Not big enough or, if you want to say, tough enough down low when battling other big men.... That combination with 3 point shot. Getting better at the 3 but not good enough if you are not able to also play well down low. Does not really take anyone off the dribble.
He is a tweener in my opinion.
Loved having him on the team. Seems like a great guy and would love to have had him back.
I just did not see Power Conference talent.
Just one person's opinion.

I believe you are spot on. He plays small down low on offense and has trouble getting clean looks around the rim. Streaky from 3.
But as you said, hate to see him go.

Yah agree would've been nice to keep him. I'm slightly surprised our NIL budget wasn't competitive with George Mason. I imagine they're higher with A10's revshare / conference profile, but not terribly so.

Any updates with Luke and UCLA? I see the content on their message board about his visit, but nothing out on socials.

According to the metaverse, UCLA fans don't seem to want him. Apparently they already have 4 PF's or big men on the roster.
Hope he comes back!

We aren’t waiting on him and there is only so much salary money.

I think we are aiming to win games from the stripe this next season.

Michigan was 25-28 (89.3%) from the stripe, including 20 in a row, in the national championship game.

Free throws win games.

Poor free throw shooting costs us at least 4 or more games a year.

We finished at a solid ranking of 346 after being at 364 for part of the season 😂

So what you are saying is, as we got better at free throw shooting, our W-L results got worse.

I think this is the point where someone usually injects something snarky like, “correlation does not equal causation” or something like that

Dionte Neal re-committed to UNCG. Baffles me how we did not even attempt to go after him. Perhaps a bridge was burned too soon?
