Sun Belt home opener!!!

Coastal is 6-5 overall and has lost 3 of their last 5. All three losses were on the road. Two of them weren't close.

Coastal is sitting at 227 in Kenpom.

Their wins are Winthrop twice, VA Lynchburg, North Dakota, Western Ill., and Alabama A&M. They have some pretty bad losses. Grand Canyon by 21, Illinois St by 52, Jax St by 7, USC Upstate by 7

Looks like on paper we should win. But we just don’t have the consistency to be confident right now.

Agree but we have looked better last two games.
Making a few threes and foul shots helps tremendously.

Yah hopefully they can carry some momentum into conference play. As suprising as it may sound the offense is better then last year, it's defense that's been well behind. But all the roster changes and importantly CJ moving on has been a big factor. I'd be surprised if they weren't markedly better on a few metrics like FG% by yearend.

I still think about Cliff Ellis and his obnoxious wife when I think of Coastal basketball. They are probably still shagging down at the inlet. Loved it every time we beat them when he was there.

If we continue to play like we have the last few games, I feel confident we win. If the team that played against Elon shows up...

I know Cliff. He’s a really nice guy. Anyway , if we shoot at a decent percentage…..

Say what you want about the Virginia Lynchburg game, but we were on a 3 game losing streak before then. It gave us a chance to regroup and work on fixing things. We’ve won 2 since including the upset win against High Point. Hopefully that momentum carries over to Coastal. I hate losing to them more than anyone except I guess I’d hate losing to Charlotte more, it’s just been so long since we’ve lost to them, I’ve forgot what it feels like.

Now’s when it really starts to matter! Let’s go!!!

We’ve got to get DJ and the other dude to be slightly more App leaning. When the other team puts you in a headlock and wrestles you to the floor, it’s acceptable to acknowledge that it’s not allowed.
