NC State would really stick it to UNC-Ch if they were to hire Hubert Davis to replace Will Wade.

State fans want Justin Gainey. They would not be pleased at all with Hubert Davis.

The name on the front of the jersey no longer matters. How much are you paying is the most important data point. No more "blue bloods", only green matters.

That is 100% correct. Burned UNC two years ago. They were living in fantasy land thinking the UNC name would pull players in...lost out on at least 2 big men and potentially 3 I believe. Picked it up during this bball season.

Amusing is the better word. It would be extremely amusing if Hubert Davis went to NC State.

Outside of NC State I am not sure if anyone considers that a rivalry anymore unless you were alive in the 80's.

Why would NC State take UNC’s rejects?

However, while Davis kept the program competitive, North Carolina endured back-to-back first-round exits in the NCAA Tournament both this year and last season, and missed the tournament entirely in 2022. Ultimately, the program decided it was time for a change.

And toss up between Dook and NC State in football.. leaning more to NC State

I'm no UNC apologist or fan, but any coach that goes .698 overall and .694 in ACC play is a pretty dang good coach.
