It's amazing what investing in legit facilities can do for a program. Same with Arkansas State's recent and ongoing improvements.
We have a legit field and surroundings. Probably need some box suites just to provide another option.
And will have a new indoor football facility for use by fall ball (not dedicated to baseball but baseball might honestly use it more than anyone)
And probably have a top 3 weight room in the SBC (not dedicated to baseball)

We do need a better locker room/clubhouse setup and a bigger dedicated "on-site" indoor at Jim and Beattie smith.
You spelled it out well. Our surface and location are good. Everything else is either too small or shared with other programs while nearly everyone in the SBC has dedicated facilities. Most have new or recently improved facilities. Even ULM built a new weight room, meeting spaces and upgraded their locker room two years ago. The indoor pitching building is at least close to becoming reality. I'm less confident in the project to expand the locker room/training room and offices. We also need to improve our fan amenities. Concessions, bathrooms, and parking could all use a boost. Smith Stadium is way better than it was a few years ago, but we need a major overhaul to get it even mid-pack in the SBC.

Having said that, I don't envy our admin with all the needs they're trying to address among all programs. Prior administrations basically did nothing or just the bare minimum for so long.

Only so much money to go around. There’s football then everyone else and it’s a scramble.

You would think the CITY and STATE would want to give a little for a better baseball stadium experience. Tell me if I am wrong, but doesn't the minor league team (Bigfoots) play there as well. I would think it would help with filling up hotel rooms during college baseball season which is kind of an in-between season. It could be a good marketing campaign for the city and the area.

Speaking of the Bigfoots…2026 schedule is out. If you’re in the HC this spring/summer, these games are an inexpensive and fun way to spend an afternoon.

We also used to host AAU tournaments (prior to Bigfoots). Honestly that was my first time at App...playing in one of those tournaments. The rest is history.
That was a great way to recruit and bring in money. Not sure if we do that anymore now that the Bigfoots are around.

Good gracious I just opened the app. We got a barn burner in the second inning.

MU has struggled historically but came on last year. We have many of the same challenges. Should be a good gauge of where the programs stand.
Marshall got $10 million from the State of West Virginia (and their alum governor) for their on-campus stadium. That helped.

App's new hitting facility is out to bid now.

Going into the bottom of the sixth, up 16-7. Sure could use a run rule game.

A run in the bottom of the seventh wins it.

This should be a winnable series if we have at least average performances. Hitting were very similar, pitching we are about a run per game better and fielding were a little behind but as we get some of our starters back, let’s hope we improve. Nothing scares me about Marshall … this is a winnable series.

Flu bug currently having a field day with our roster. It was eerie how empty our dugout was last night.
