2022 Baseball Mega Thread

Creating this thread early so I don't forget. We do the mega thread (one continuous running thread for the entire season) because individual games and series weren't having threads posted or being discussed at all. This keeps the conversation going all season.

App plays a 3 game series at Campbell February Fri. 2/18 at 5pm, Sat. 2/19 at 3:30 pm, and Sun. 2/20 at 1pm. Campbell went 37-19-0 in 2021 finishing #1 in the Big South.

Still struggling at the plate and in the bullpen so far today. Struck out 13 times through 6 innings at my last count. Down 5-0 in the 8th as bullpen just walked in a run.

It was awful but I stuck it out for 9 innings.We looked really weak all the way around.I have a hard time accepting losing to Cambell much less getting drubbed by them in any sport.And getting tired of excuses for baseball.

I am not sure about the last 10-15 years but Campbell used to have an extremely strong Baseball program.

I think that college baseball is just a whole different deal. Smaller name programs- UC Irvine, Dallas Baptist and schools like Campbell get some really good players who know that they can get looks by the pros even if they don’t necessarily play the “big boy” schools.

If only college football adopted a partial scholarship offer system. Especially in the NIL era. School gets 85 to divvy up among a 100 man roster. If you think you’re going to be a big NIL earner you could forgo a higher percentage of your scholarship.

When that used to happen the big schools stockpiled 125+ players, the 85 / 105 rules came into being to stop that.
