Packpride message boards leaking that Leary is going to portal. This portal crap is MAYHEM. I hope we don't dabble in it too much, it's honestly just a headache and will ruin college football if it hasnt already haha.
Would make a lot of sense for him to follow Beck to CCU imo
He was in heisman conversations, he won’t be going to a g5

He is strictly going to pick a strong P5 that can help get showcased for the NFL. Zero chance he drops to a G5

Not trying to be snide, but honestly asking.....do we want a DB from UNC? He might be great, but as a unit they didn't perform well. Wasn't that one of their weaknesses? Chase torched them
Nash was 4 star Safety out of HS. He is 6’1” 6’2” RS/Freshman athlete.

I don't think NIL had to be legalized. It was already legal, just like it is for any other kid in school. It just took the Supreme Court ruling to open the floodgates. The only thing state legislatures are doing is trying to put up some guardrails.
Sure, but the history of it was that it was first legalized by state legislatures years before the Supremes ever gutted the NCAA. While it was always technically legal for any college student to make profit of their NIL, the NCAA would not allow college athletes to do it. So the legislators went over their heads with good body blow and then the Supremes finished the NCAA off.

It will probably be hard to land any defense talent when they don't know who the DC is going to be.

Or maybe they do already know and it's just not public yet...

Either way, we'll be running the same base scheme so they'll know what to expect for sure.

I still think we're in the wild west of NIL and in a few years it will be much calmer as the real market emerges.

The truth is all the crazy NIL deals right now are just formerly belowground money being done aboveboard now. The same guys paying X player $1MM/year were buying that same player new cars and giving them duffel bags and what not a few years ago.

I've personally seen a very high profile NC State basketball player who was well known to be from an extremely impoverished background pull up to a college party in a brand new Escalade while visiting some friends. This was circa 2006 or so.

Eh, he's primed for bigger ball than that. He needs to prove he belongs in NFL, I dont think you can do that at Coastal at QB.

I hope he doesn't end up at Coastal lol, dude can sling it.
Leary was a stud at State. He'll have P5s lined up to compete for him.

If we're going to pursue anyone leaving UNC, I wouldn't mind offering Ra Ra Dillworth. Another highly recruited kid who has the type of size/speed profile that other App linebackers have thrived with.

Some of y’all forget the Nissans that our bball players drove during the Buzz years. Amazing that they all had stickers from Michael Jordan Nissan…

I saw Thurl Bailey's 240Z in the summer of '83 when we went to State for basketball camp.

I agree. I think he would be a stud here. Problem is I think his final 2 were UNC and Alabama so hes probably aiming for P5 exposure
