Banks should win SBPOY but I feel that Debarge for Lala might win it. Publicity stunt.
Tolley better numbers in less games, on a team with an ERA of 7.00.

JMU beat Troy in Game 2 today, so App will be the No. 6 seed and will play the No. 3 seed at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

The No. 3 seed will be the JMU/Troy Game 3 winner. That game starts shortly.

Troy was hot, now they are not. Hope we didn’t lose our momentum and confidence after the GS series loss.

Those are great honors for ASL and Tolley. Banks Tolley should have been player of the year as well.

How is Banks also not the POY??? Led almost all of the slugging categories or was 2nd. I know the Cajuns SS is good and they won the regular season but this is some BS!

Congrats to Banks and ASL for their outstanding performances and being named 1st team All Conference. Keep ballin’ boys!

Congrats to Banks, but he got ROBBED. Should have been Newcomer of the Year AND Player of the Year.

Go off in the tourney, let them know!

GO APPS!!

Sometimes it's difficult to top the best player on the best team regardless of stats

That’s it. Best player on best team. Not unusual.

It is hard to argue you are the "Most Valuable Player" in the conference if your team did not win the conference. Yes...you were valuable but not valuable enough to win the conference. Only valuable enough to place 6th. Just a thought. Banks definitely lifted us from 10th to 6th by himself. Great player.

I realize this is typically the case that the player with good stats that is also on the best team...gets the nod in these situations.
However, I personally do not believe in this idea entirely. If we had one more above average starting pitcher, two more above average reliever (one being left handed), we would probably be at the top of the conference....and all that is out of 3's control.

I have not followed the other players in the league and respective stats (including Defense in the field)...so I have no strong position as to whether 3 should be poy or not...but I do not believe it should be automatically given to the player on the best team...for various reasons..as the one example given above

Is it "Most Valuable" or "Player of the Year?" To my mind, they are not the same thing.

Good point...it should be looked at differently.
