Under the current situation, transfer portal, I think you have to go for broke every season. I don’t really see a way to build a team that will last for more than one season.

That was a big issue for me previously when we had assistants swearing during the 2023 season that 2024 would be the year like 2019 and then we fall very short. A staff needs to put out reasonable expectations and if anything under promise and over deliver.

I imagine that we are set. The portal is closed and we are at 85 scholarships. Don’t know what the plan is once the House Settlement is complete to know how many more scholarships we will fund. The football team golf tournament is this Friday so that is a chance to ask.

Players with a degree can enter the portal at any time though. I wonder if we have any grad students who might decide to enter late?

Yes. Took some time to get their information dug out. I've built them profiles and placed them as PWO's for now. We're still seeing how guys in the DSA portal are going to be listed.

I'm not happy to see Wilson leaving the QB position but I certainly understand it. I'd much rather see him make this switch than to enter the portal so it's actually pretty refreshing. I'm guessing that, with his athleticism and understanding of offenses, he can be a significant contributor as a DB

Interesting to see him moving to DB instead of RB. If he was a dual threat with his legs offensively, seems he would have stayed on that side of the ball. Will pull for him no matter what position he plays though.
