So Miss discussion

Expected them to look better thus far. But I also expected us to look better vs Lindenwood. So not sure what to think on this one.

Braylon Braxton the ex Marshall QB will be hard to contain if he sits in the pocket and has time to pick out his receivers. He can scramble and has good speed to pick up a !st down when needed. Our front has to put pressure and let the LB's contain him.The team is basically Marshall South!

Marshall beat us with Braxton because we didn’t have speed and couldn’t tackle. As long as the defense plays like they have thus far, I’m confident.

SMiss has had a very different schedule compared to App. MissSt is a quality team and JSU won the HBCU title last with size and speed. Arguably they've played better teams and come away looking OK.

Its hard to say we've had anything but a cupcake schedule and performed as we should have.

This will be the most level matchup in the Belt this week. A loss means little to either team given its cross divisional. Home field advantage may just be the difference here...Im hopeful for a win but will be pleased with a good outing.

Their QB passed for 200 yards vs Miss St. and as mentioned looked solid at Marshall.

We’re going to need to score over 25 to win.

Agreed...and with conference play starting, the margin for error shrinks significantly.
My hope is lessons were learned and we'll see significant improvement against USM.

And they'll have to score 26, might be hard to do on our defense.

2005 I think - being that way, teams had a difficult time scoring against us.

We are favored by 1.5 last I saw.

Hoping we can put it all together on offense this week. - Seemed to be a focus in player and Dlogg interviews

I think he means we could lose this one, win rest of conference games...and we still have tiebreaker against East teams

Just listened to post game press conference. Sensed a lot of frustration fro. Coach. Coach said those guys don't know how to win. Don't believe it was so much a jab at the team as much as past seasons. He stated that was why they were here now. We have tons of talent I believe "if" they can gel as a team it will be very satisfying to watch. If they don't I believe we will see much of same from past few seasons. A good solid performance vs SoMiss will go a long way to getting us there.
My gut tells me they are getting coached up well. Just need to improve execution. Glad we are 2-0 looking for 3-0!

I’m not sure it was a jab to the former staff and if it was, it wasn’t necessary or correct. Only three starters of the offense are hold overs from last in Larkins, Stroman and Ramsey. Sweatt didn’t play last year.

I am not sure it is a dig at past coach either. Had 9 wins in 23. I think he is stating we have 50+ new players on the team between new high school and portal. They have to gel together and learn what it means to win together as a team.

Exactly...This isn't the 2019 team, we aren't going to win every game.

Have realistic expectations

Stop shooting ourselves in the foot and we'll be fine. This week would be a great time to start. We've had some good moments when we've played clean.
