Appreciate the ideas. All good ones. As an FYI, the use of foreign objects is limited due to space. No ladders taller than 5 feet and no tables larger than a standard card table. We are working to modify to accommodate but labor issues with our supplier are proving problematic.

Who needs to hire overpriced consultants from Kinsey to generate promo great ideas? YC posters are making it happen; Gillin's sitting on a gold mine over here and doesn't even know it.

And don't even get me started about the red flags and paperwork that pop up when OSHA gets wind of non-compliant table dimensions.

In case anyone’s wondering about backing music for the octagon matches, I’ve already chosen the track for the main event on the card.

The OSHA guy in WNC is all taken care of. He will not be a problem.

Baseball doesn’t matter it seems.
Definitely an afterthought. As most are to football.

I want Kermit to win. But, if he doesn’t, our next coach should demand more money and publicity. Sooner or later, our athletics department should realize that baseball has the best odds to make postseason runs and deserves more money to equip them to do so.
The challenge that I think we have in Baseball most urgently is neither the transfer portal or NIL. It is the increase in the maximum number of scholarships allowable from 11.7 to 34. App has finally been able to find a full slate of scholarships only to have it increase dramatically (in other sports also). I don't hear this being discussed much. The big boys won't blink at funding 34 scholarships but are we going to be able to do it? How many more men's sports are going to be cut in order to remain competitive? The new scholarships limits will help the P4 pull away in these sports as well, so the days of the Sunbelt getting 4 teams in the playoffs might be numbered.

Serious question...why would we need 34 scholarships to play baseball. It is not like it is very physical. I would think 20 would be plenty. If we habe that many injuries just move on to next year.

We split scholarships currently in order to field a full roster (34). So, who do you think winds up with the better roster...the team with 34 full scholarships? Or the team with 11.7 scholarships split 34 ways?

Raising some quick cash at the spring game? That won’t be hard.

We’ll have the Octagon set up in Jerry Moore plaza. Then the DLo lovers/haters can settle their differences the old fashioned way.

Y’all plan on meeting me at the mini-storage the night before for load-out.
Will that be held pre-Spring Game or is the Spring Game the opener? Can we get a Roll Neers/Go Apps undercard?
We’re open to any ideas that will raise $$$ for MAF. A couple have been floated so far:
  • Tweetsie alumni throwdown: former train actors abandon their cap pistols for a real dust up the whole family will enjoy
  • Donnybrook in the Land of Oz: battle royale featuring current and former Dorothys to finally settle who’s the greatest to ever wear the ruby slippers
Again, these were some random ideas. If you’ve got any, let’s light that candle.
Throw in a round or two with the dance hall girls and I'm in.....

Get the Grandfather Mountain Highlands Games Pipe Band in to play over the festivities and it's one heck of a deal.

We tried getting them at one point but the lad that played the snare drum was a real diva with his demands.

I know a guy that knows a guy…we might be able to land Brooke/Darin Aldridge and/or Boone & Church for this. Y’all sit tight.

I hope there is some kind of explanation of the structure beforehand or during the game. There were times where I didn’t know what I was watching last year and I didn’t understand the scoring. Various PA announcements would be helpful.
