Serious question....On the RPI/Net rankings in baseball, does it hurt more to lose to a 200 net team or help more to win against a 100 net team? I am 100% sure in my mind all of our efforts should be placed on winning against Sunbelt teams.....but.....but...sometimes my mind leans to do we really want a news story locally that we lost to Queens or WCU or whatever small college vs a non local news story of we lost to Louisiana. I guess the question is where would you throw your best pitcher?
Hurts more to lose to 200 net. (Gwebb, Queens, A&T, any of the St. teams from the NE). Most of our OOC is made up of Q4 teams minus midweeks.

A win always helps.
Away wins/losses are weighted the most.
If you're going to lose, lose to a top 100 team and do it away.

3 Quad 4 games this week end vs the Stink.

We sit at 101 RPI today- pretty solid!!! (We were 191 in after week 6)
This is a must win series at home for a lot of reasons (rival-screw Stink, SBC standings, RPI metrics) against a 200+ ranked team.
Home games like this are really a no win situation for us from a RPI perspective. Regardless of a W or L we drop points in RPI.

Yep a win at home vs 200+ isn’t much.

We did jump 2 spots to 99th!

Does RPI really matter at this point? Feels like we need to win the tourney to get in.

GO APPS!!

As someone has pointed out during basketball season, a top 100 in basketball is like a to 50 in football fbs. (138 in FBS) There are 300 in d1 baseball. I also like to look at where we are to non p4 teams. 99th is pretty strong. Now, that being said, I have no idea how legit the rankings are but I would think they would be just as legit as top 25 rankings in Football.

vs. RPI Teams
vs. RPI Teams
RPI
1-25 1-6
26-50 1-3
51-100 6-5
101-200 16-2
201+ 0-0

RPI is good for comparisons…. shows growth or decline beyond wins/losses

This would be 3 out of 4 years inside the top 100 if we can finish the season strong. I know we all want to see a post season birth, but that would be a notable accomplishment if we stay there.

Kendall Rogers has his eye on us and mentioned our solid RPI lately.
We would probably have to run the table deep into the SBC to have a shot and maybe upset Wake.

Playing our best ball. Keep winning and maybe we play ourselves back into that conversation.

Again , in the context of making the NCAAs that ship has sailed. We have to win in Montgomery to get a bid .

Good thing the bullpen wasn't used last night. 70 pitches in 3 innings isn't good

Can't believe Peterson pitched the 7th and breezed through it

1,295 feet of homers for Kam in the first four innings.

12-2 for the home team Top 5th.
That buzzing sound we hear is coming from Kam’s agent’s pocket…the P4 squads are blowing the guy’s phone up right about now.
