For everyone’s sake, yes I do believe we should win 8 games. There are some who are unhappy and are looking for a reason to push for another change. I don’t agree with that so soon, but I can’t ignore it.
I am with you on not pushing for change too early. He definitely needs 3 years unless we don't show any improvement or take a step backwards. I wonder if the folks looking for reason to make a change so early are those who just did not want to get rid of Clark or what has motivated them to want a change so quick?
I think that is the root of it, personally.

It feels like that could be why because the fact he does not engage like some want is something that you don't hear when a coach is winning.

Over the past 5 years how many G5’s have averaged 8 wins in football and averaged finishing in the top (say) 5 in their conference in basketball and baseball? Threw in baseball for whatever but mainly the first 2. I’m looking for the most consistent winners at our level over the period.
We've averaged 23 wins in basketball in the last 5 years.

If you go with 8 wins and football and 23 wins:
San Diego State
JMU. (not all at FBS)
Boise St.
Liberty
Toledo
Memphis
Troy
Marshall
WKU
8 wins/22 wins
Miami, OH

Just saw that on Facebook and was coming to see the chatter.

Ill gladly take his experiences back on the mountain. Hes only 56 though so I could also see this just being a short stop for a couple of years.

Unless he just wants to retire around Boone. Maybe just a less stressful and fun job for him.

I think the question is, head coach in waiting or just a brief stop until something else comes along.

Given he isn't in a specific football role he may not be looking at going for football coaching position currently.

I was thinking of a role in line with developing a more cohesive football alumni network.

Also hopefully developing more relationships in Charlotte.

I could see him based out of Charlotte. We’ve tried to put someone in the Queen City before.

Just my 2 cents. We would be better off going into the smaller towns than Charlotte. Charlotte is full of people from the Northeast and Midwest. The folks from the Northeast don’t care about college football and the other folks belong to Ohio State and Michigan.

It’s where our largest alumni base is located.

Losing. And with style. Plus his lack of involvement in the community, including the campus. That’s my take on it.
I think there's also an element of never having been impressed with the hire to begin with.

If you think a new coach has impressive credentials, is a good fit etc., you're probably going to have more patience with him than you will with a guy who you believed from the outset was a bad hire. Fair or not, that's just human nature.

Just win games. That is what everyone is being paid for. My personal opinion is 3 yrs max and depending on results maybe 2. I really don't care about personality. I have no desire to party with any coach. Just win games.
