Good fight back tonight. The Cajuns' starter settled down well and Dirito kept up in a position to compete. The Cajuns' defensive positions was excellent. They did their scouting to a T.

You can question leaving Ethan in for the 10th.

Amazing that the entire 9th inning rally was done without a single hit.

The Friday starter for LaLa, with his sub 3.00 ERA, was a tough cookie to crack.

On to the next one. We can still take the series.

Sat near a Mets scout last night. Peeked at his tracking device. Brasch consistently threw 95 and 96 mph. Need more committed at bats from Miller today. I can take an occasional wild swing on a slider but those way-too-frequent backward Ks are hard to stomach.

Citadel, Mercer, High Point, Liberty, WCU….all top 55 RPI’s. All similar programs to us.
SoCon might be a 2 bid league!

We must schedule a P4 weekend. And continue to play them in midweeks.
We’re putting too much pressure on ourselves to win every game.

Our Non Conf SOS is 246th of 310 teams in a region of the country where the best ball is played.

They let us back in it but closed us out when they had to. A ton of pressure on us today , can’t win the series without it . And we need the series.

Yes, when playing high RPI teams with good pitching, you still have to be aggressive at the plate……. these pitchers with a three-to-one to strikeout to walk ratio will almost always be around the strike zone….. be aggressive! And shame on Kam for letting a fastball go by without a swing with the bases loaded with two outs with a full count in the bottom of the 9th. He worked hard to get it to a full count to not swing. We need to do all the small things to get to their bullpen.

By now, everyone in the conference knows that 33 and 34 cannot lay off a breaking ball that starts in the zone and ends out of the zone. The only time 34 is going to see a heater, for rest of season, is probably either when opposing team believes he will not expect it or a 3-2 count when the breaking ball is not the pitchers best pitch.

I have been consistent in my dislike of when bunts choices are made.

Kermit needs to have a discussion with these umpires about the Cajun pitcher's continously cutting in front of our runners on the way to 1st. I noticed it last night

Ground ball moves the runner just the same and a base hit scores a run. No need to limit yourself with the bunt in that earlier situation.

Tomorrow is a big one. Need to build momentum and send the seniors out on a high note. And for the staff , well it’s an opportunity to make their case .
