If the Sword of Damocles is hanging over the coaching staff’s heads, as Stonewall loves to constantly point out, that would be the dumbest thing Doug Gillin has ever done at App. Some of the folks Stonewall talks to may be that dumb but I don’t believe Gillin is one of them.

Agree. If Powers that be want change, how about give the team $ to actually stay overnight for a legit weekend series and not pinch pennies to cobble together a non-conf schedule. Time we start treating the program like we are in arguably the 4th best Conference in the nation.

There is no reason for us to be playing a weekend series that consists of 1 road, 1 neutral and 1 home game. Or weekend series that consists of 2 different opponents (other than a round robbin “tournament” deal).

It is stuff like this that irks me even more about NIL.

Good news is that USA lost, so we remain in third.

More important, the right combo of wins and losses happened today so App State is all-but locked into the Top Six and avoids the play-in round (tiebreaker versus Marshall and ULM).

Now to get the bats right in whatever suburb of Atlanta GSU plays in. This is their last series at that field before moving to their new stadium at the old Fulton County Stadium site next season.

That's funny because I think we're overly aggressive many times. I guess it's all about perspective.

If you take a strike, you should’ve been more aggressive. If you swing and miss, you should be more patient and wait for your pitch.

the loss sucked today, especially when we had chances friday night...but oh well...would be great to get a series win against GaSt...hit the 30 win mark...and get a bye in that first round..or play in round whatever its called.

Ok let’s talk some about Kam. Overall it appears that since his return from his injury, he is not back to where he was last season. He is mostly hitting in the DH spot ( that actually might be part of it). Last season he had a much better BA. He walked at a much higher rate. Since he’s been back I think it’s fair to say he has struggled more at the plate. Particularly concerning today is he stuck out three times while facing the favorable match up of hitting right against a lefty. He works hard to get a favorable pitch count and get the pitcher to throw a fastball…… when they do…..SWING! I’d much rather you strike out swinging then watching a fastball go by. That’s his pitch…
