On a positive note, Southern Miss run-rule walked off Georgia Southern with a homer to beat then 11-0 and send the Eagles to a 16-40 finish, worse than any App State season in 21 years.

According to the tiebreaker gurus, App State will play Texas State in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Bobcats just swept Marshall in San Marcos.

Winners go to the double elimination bracket. Highest-seeded Tuesday winner will play #2 in the other game in our bracket, the lowest-seeded Tuesday winner will play #1 in the other bracket.

The other known Wednesday game is #4 South Alabama vs #5 Troy.

Coastal and Louisiana are still playing. That game will determine who between Coastal and Southern Miss is #1 and #2.
