No Steven Smith today. That hurts us with having to put Mummau at SS. Leaves us very short handed in the infield.

Seems we could have had more so far, but up 1-0, bases loaded and 2 outs.

Missed opportunity for a crooked number there, but 1 is better than 0. Hitting the ball hard and running up that pitch count.

Now a steal, bad throw. Third base with 1 out.
Edit: Then HBP.

2-2, 1 out in the bottom of 3rd

I am amazed at the amount college players don't try to avoid getting hit by a pitch.

They just said Smith is expected to play later in the tournament. I’m no doctor but I’m curious what will change in a few days with stitches in the mouth area. Can’t imagine a great deal of healing beyond where he’s at today.

Agreed. And from what I've heard he's been lobbying to play. Who makes the decision for him to sit? I have to assume it's not the coaching staff. What difference does 1 day make?

Sounds like training staff/doc said no go.

With Xeureb done and Smith out, we’re really thin. And Dupont hurting bad. Forgot Tank was out too.

Really need to win this one in the last inning here.

Charlie is also hobbled and Kam with his hamstring issues.

We get either UL or Coastal tomorrow. Could be a short stay. A loss would give us six of our last 8 in the loss column.
